Sometime we stumble upon something amazing. When I signed up to take Peter Folensbe's first workshop at Country Workshops, I had no idea that I was about to meet some of the most influential people green woodworking in America. I just saw the title of the class "Make a carved box from a tree" and I was like, sign me up! Having never worked with lumber right from a log I was fascinated by the idea. I didn't know that the class was actually an advanced class where everyone in the class was familiar with working with green wood, knew the teacher and all the many people responsible for keeping the craft alive. Needless to say this class was a amazing experience for me. In a way being the lest skilled person in the class had the distinct advantage in that I was the only one with a whole room full of teachers!
